KelsMac is a 100% female owned and led company based in Denver, Colorado. My main goal in life is to demonstrate to my children who I hope they will be when they grow up: honest, brave, and kind people. I am passionate about giving back to my community and am very active in several non profit organizations.
My first business as a child was swiping canned soda from my parents' refrigerator and then selling it back to them at a markup. After getting a degree in Economics, I opened my first "real" business in 2009. Since then, I've owned and operated many different businesses including retail, a group of franchised restaurants, a catering company, a cute little cafe, and even a used car lot.
I decided to pursue construction professionally after my last restaurant failed. All of my other restaurants were successful, so it drove me crazy this one was not. I knew the ins and outs of management, P&L statements, operations, food service...the difference between the business making it or not was the building itself, not anything my team or I could have done better. I didn't realize the cost associated with installing the necessary new equipment would lead to excessive code compliance and permitting issues, ultimately blowing my entire budget.
Construction has turned into a huge passion for me as a result. Whether I am helping a homeowner rebuild their family home or building out a new restaurant for a first time business owner, I love being a part of these huge life milestones for my customers.
Before any business can succeed, it needs great owners and a great team behind them. Business plans, financing, construction, management, employees, I've been through it all. I personally value clear communication, individualized customer service, and transparency on scheduling and budgets. I pledge to be your primary point of contact, your ally, your advocate at all levels, and I will make your project MY project.
I look forward to working with you and adding your family to the KelsMac family!
